Biblical Positions
How We Live What We Believe
Ground Zero exists to serve students from every background and life experience. No matter where someone is coming from, they are welcomed into a space where they can be known, valued, and invited to explore faith at their own pace.
As a Christ-centered ministry, we believe truth is not defined by personal preference but revealed through Scripture. Our understanding of human identity, relationships, and sexuality is grounded in God’s design. Because of this, our staff, board members, student leaders, and volunteers serving in leadership roles commit to living in alignment with these biblical convictions.
Created with Dignity
Every person is created in the image of God and designed for a relationship with Him and with others. Each life carries inherent dignity, value, and purpose.
-
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image…” – Genesis 1:26
The Reality of Brokenness
Sin has fractured humanity’s relationship with God and one another. This brokenness affects every part of life—including our desires, relationships, and sexuality.
-
“...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” – Romans 3:23
Our Commitment to Grace and Truth
Because all people wrestle with sin, we approach every person with compassion, dignity, and Christ-like love. We reject slander, hostility, and demeaning speech. Repentance, grace, and transformation are available to all through Jesus Christ.
-
“Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.” – Ephesians 4:15
-
“...in humility value others above yourselves…” – Philippians 2:3–4
The Sanctity of Life
We affirm that God creates and sustains human life. From conception to natural death, every human life is sacred and worthy of protection and care.
-
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” – Psalm 139:13–16
Stewardship of the Body
As followers of Christ, we honor God with our bodies, avoiding behaviors or substances that harm ourselves or others and striving to live in self-control and wisdom.
-
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19–20
God’s Design for Sexuality & Marriage
Scripture teaches that sexual intimacy is a gift from God, designed to be expressed between one biological man and one biological woman within the covenant (sacred, binding agreement) of marriage. For followers of Christ, all other sexual expressions fall outside of God’s intended design.
-
“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” – Genesis 2:24
-
“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” – Hebrews 13:4
