iGROW
This Week @ iGROW:
In this lesson, we meet Samuel at the end of his life. You may know him as the boy his mother, Hannah, prayed desperately for and then dedicated to the Lord. He was considered the last judge and the first major prophet of Israel. In this study, we see that Samuel’s sons have become judges. At least two of them have not listened to the Word of God or their father, and have become corrupt. Their wickedness and greed played a role in Israel’s decision to want to be like other nations and have a king lead them. By telling God they wanted a king to rule them, they were basically saying, “God, Your plan to rule us isn’t good enough. We want a king like everyone else.” Even though He knew where it led, God gave them what they wanted. We still tend to do this in our hearts to this day. In this lesson we will see how this worked out for Israel. Furthermore, we will see that the source for all of their guidance and wisdom can’t be the world…it has to be Christ Himself.
The Thread Overview
So many teenagers simply don’t have a grasp of the narrative of the Bible. Key characters. Key events. Few students understand how these elements fit into the story of God and His people. The Thread aims to change this. In The Thread you will learn what the Gospel is, and how it courses through the narrative of Scripture. Not only will you learn the story of the Bible, but you will see that it is a story of unfailing love, as God seeks the beginning of Creation to draw humankind to Him through the grace of the Gospel.
What is iGROW?
iGrow is a weekly experience that helps teenagers grow in their faith and understanding of God’s Word while connecting with others on the same faith journey. Each teenager also has an opportunity to be in an iGroup, which are consistent, dedicated groups of teenagers that are led by caring adults. iGrow gives teenagers a chance to build safe relationships and navigate faith and life together. In addition, teenagers have opportunities to participate in outings to strengthen relationships throughout the year.
