The first thing that comes to mind is probably the Christmas carol “O Holy Night”...

O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

This famous song was written in 1847 and today the weary soul still rejoices.
